Boleslaus I is grandson of first Christian Duke of Bohemia,Borivorius I, and his wife St. Ludomilla (d. 920, Countess ofMielnick) - his ancestry is traced through ancient Bohemian nobilityto Czocus (Cracus), Duke 670-709, "a noble Croatian". {Ref. Collins, Jr., Dallas, 1959,p. 43.} Boleslaus I murdered his brother Wenzel ("the Holy", latercanonized) in 935) and expanded the boundaries of Bohemia. Boleslaus Ireigned as Duke 938-967.
