[115] He came to America in 1638, was in Boston, MA in 1639, where hejoined the church 6 Jan 1639. He was in Rowley, MA, in 1640, where hemade Freeman 13 May 1640. He was a husbandman. He was dismissed to thechurch in Rowley 24 Sep 1639. He was frequently in town office inRowley, MA from 1666 to 1673, and served continuosly as the town'srepresentative in the Massachusetts Legislature of the General Court.He also served in King Phillip's Was in 1675-6 and was on anexpedition to Canada. His name is sometimes spelled Swain.
