Nils Helgesen was born around 1699 in Halsteinrud, and was married toGoro
Narvesdatter who was born around 1701 in Gronhovd; their children:
1. Helge, born around 1719 owned the farm a short while, then leftthe area
before 1757, nobody knew where she was.
2. Narve, born around 1726, married in 1748 to Astrid Helgesdatter,owned
the farm awhile, the side in Hovseie.
3. Ingrid in 1728, married in 1759 to Ola Nilsen Hagan from Nerdalen.
4. Lars in 1731 died at birth.
5. Lars in 1732, died unmarried in 1757 at Eidal.
6. Siri in 1735, married to Nils Helgesen Gosslia in Krodsherad.
Nils died in 1737. Goro Evju went to the summer parliament afterthis
and demanded the laws assertion about her husband who had died 12 days
before Easter, how he,after the autumn parliament's session the yearbefore
and the entire winter after complained of injuries after the blows andslashes
he had received at the parliament in the fall of 1736.
Nils and Goro were sitting well then, they had 11 animals and oneox
several calves, 11 sheep and 2 horses. There were 314 silver coins to
divide after Nils. Goro was married a second time to Jon Knutsen andlived
at Blekaberg from 1748 on.
The woods here were owned jointly with Blekaberg and Moen in 1758,the
same woods were split from Rud and Havika before. In 1741-42 thedivision
went between Hov and jointly owned Evju--Blekaberg--Moen. This isrefered
to in the parliament's books. Jon Knutsen gave the deed in 1748 tostepson
Helge Nilsen for 325 silver coins. Helge borrowed 110 silver coinsfrom
Mrs. Glad, but she sold property to brother Narve Nilsen in 1749 for240
silver coins. Narve owned therewith a goodly share of the farm andborrowed
300 silver coins from Tomas Steinarsen Albjork towards deposit in theentire
property, Narve Nilsen sold his portion in Evju in 1752 to AdamTorgeirsen
and moved to Hovseie.
The transaction involved land; the buyer's sum was 298 silvercoins.
Adam Torgeirsen redeemed portions here after a time. He sold in 1763to
Ola Bjornsen Narum for 700 silver coins and moved to Skalaeie, then hewas
in Raenset and was led there. On behalf of Ingrid and Sigrid Nildotrecame
their husbands, Ola Nilsen Hagen and Nils Helgesen Fosslia in 1765with
an inheritance demand to the rights for Evju, but instead they gavethe deed
to Ola Bjornsen for 50 silver coins each. Narve Nilsen Skredderudkept the
right for his son Nils to let go of the farm whenever he wished for900
silver coins.
